‘Since day one, I knew A DL needed an unrestrained way to express itself (The brand was born as a boutique store, but so immersed into what I called a ‘hyper-chic Caribbean look) as urban or as couture as it wanted to; the key to achieving that was in a sentence I still have in my desktop: ‘This needs to work perfectly in a goddamn velvet coat and a pair of snob collab sneakers.’

We began brainstorming ways to express these distinctive ideas in the work as we discovered AGUA DE LEON’s unique perspective on life, the people it wanted to connect with, and the places it wanted to visit. That’s when we naturally turned our attention to food because, as clothing, it had always been a shared interest among the ADL community. Not only did Cartagena offer intriguing culinary options, but the brand’s founders and creative directors were also passionate about gastronomy and nightlife. 

The idea of starting a bar, ADL Bar, was born, later evolving into a restaurant where we incorporated every detail of the brand’s identity. Much like the stores, a constantly evolving space emerged, bringing together various influences that, when deconstructed, formed a new concept.

Since then, the place, the name, and the brand have become local and national symbols of design aesthetic excellence and a platform for Colombian creativity to reach global heights.
